The Ultimate Guide to Byron Bay, Australia
Byron Bay is a stunning coastal town located in the far north coast of New South Wales, Australia. With its beautiful beaches, thriving arts and culture scene, and laid-back atmosphere, it is no wonder why Byron Bay is one of the most popular destinations in Australia.
Surfing the most beautiful beached in Byron
One of the main attractions of Byron Bay is its stunning beaches, including the famous Byron Bay Main Beach and the secluded Wategos Beach. Both beaches offer excellent surfing for Pros or just beginners, since the waves are perfect and the sand is soft without barely any rocks, it is really a fantastic spot to swim, or if it is just sunbathing opportunities, making them the perfect place to spend a day in the sun.
Walk to the Byron Bay Lighthouse during Sunrise
At the very western point of Mainland Byron, is the beautiful Byron Bay Lighthouse also known as the Cape Byron Lighthouse. Popular hiking track during sunrise with breathtaking ocean views, wildlife sightings and witnessing the water hitting the cliffs.
Go shopping at many designers’ shops
Visitors can also explore the many galleries, boutiques, and unique shops that line the streets of the town centre. Even if it is just window shopping for beautiful designer clothes, accessories, furniture or Art.
Visit the Farm in Byron Bay
Whether it is for a coffee, muffin, food, drink or buying a bunch of fresh flowers is a must!! The Farm is on acres of land with live animals running around on the farm. The experience of seeing how food is grown and produced that makes the eating of it so much more pleasurable.
Byron Bay Fun Markets
Byron Bay is also known for its fun Markets. You will find the Farmers Market, Antique Market, Organic Market and Flea Market in one of the surrounding villages. From the vibrant street art to the numerous music festivals and cultural events that take place throughout the year, there is always something happening in this creative town.
Minyon Falls Lookout
The Minyon Falls is a waterfall that inclines more than 100 meters over the giant rhyolite cliffs, which were once part of the tweed volcano. Half an hour from Byron Bay, you will find yourself in a completely different world where the country side meets mountains. The hike is about 13km long, which can take around 3-4 hours but is well worth it.
Many cool organic Restaurants
Byron Bay is full of healthy, fresh, organic cafes and restaurants. There is absolutely no shortage of quality food, wines and cocktails. Some of our favourite hot spots are Top Shop (great coffee, wonderful muffins, burgers), Byron Fresh( Organic Food), Bang Bang (Asian Flare), Light Years (Asian Flare), Pixies (Italian and local seafood), Bar Heather (Natural wine friendly), Raes Dining at Wategoes Modern Australian (Everything on the Menu is Amazing), Lovers Lane (great cocktails) and Kouzina Traditional (Greek food).
